Interactive FrameFRAME / 008Survivor Relay / Post-Collapse Radio

LAST SIGNAL

Somewhere in the noise, someone is alive.

A fictional frontier radio network operating after the Long Failure. Visitors awaken an underground relay, search six contaminated frequencies, stabilize a human transmission, reconstruct a survival map, and answer WREN-04 without revealing either survivor's exact position.

The premise

LAST SIGNAL treats the interface as a surviving machine rather than a page about the apocalypse. Information must be tuned, stabilized, decoded, and verified before it can be trusted. The visitor moves from passive interception to consequential contact: every signal may reveal another living person, but opening the channel may also expose the station to something listening beneath it.

Three connected systems

PREMISE / INTERFACE / BEHAVIOR
01

The hero is a functioning instrument

The experience opens in dormancy and must be awakened. A procedural receiver field, damaged spectrum, live signal quality, frequency controls, and optional generated audio turn the full viewport into an operational relay rather than a conventional headline-and-button composition.

02

Trust has to be earned

Six channels carry dead authority, unstable weather, water intelligence, a possible lure, biological interference, and one human request. Holding a carrier steady recovers its message, resource ledger, known risks, signal age, and relay history instead of granting clean information immediately.

03

Contact creates consequence

After stabilizing WREN-04, the visitor reconstructs a hazard map, returns a prime-sequence challenge, rejects exposed routes, selects neutral ground, and relays a position-safe reply. The successful handshake opens the band long enough for a second, non-human pattern to answer.

The build

Product thinking,
made interactive.

  • 01Original ash, petroleum, phosphor, radio-amber, water-blue, and contaminated-green signal identity
  • 02Dependency-free Canvas 2D spectrum, terrain, relay, contamination, and threat field
  • 03Dormant-to-online relay boot sequence with accessible live announcements
  • 04Six explorable frequencies with signal decay, corrupted typography, distinct risks, and decoded intelligence
  • 05Press-and-hold carrier stabilization with pointer, touch, keyboard, and range-input controls
  • 06Reconstructed survival map, trust ledger, coded challenge, route validation, and encrypted reply ritual
  • 07Opt-in procedural Web Audio receiver, adaptive rendering, reduced-motion behavior, and mobile field-receiver layout
SIMULATION NOTICE

LAST SIGNAL is a fictional interactive frame and narrative simulation. Its survivors, frequencies, hazards, environmental classifications, locations, resource declarations, trust chain, route intelligence, biological threat, and emergency transmissions are invented. It is not a real communications network, survival tool, water-safety system, navigation service, emergency alert, or source of medical or environmental guidance.

Have a difficult product to explain?
Give it a system people can feel.

Narrative, visual logic, responsive product interface, motion, integration, and production remain in one coherent frame.
